Op shop crafting!

I have an addiction to books - craft books in particular and I find myself drooling over these more than doing actual crafting itself!

In order to feed my addiction in a cheap and cheerful way I always find opshops / thrift stores have a great selection of sometimes tacky but always interesting retro craft books and some more useful recent publications.

Here's a pic of my swag from the other day:

This would have to be the most interesting and cute-worthy out of the lot of them:

This is a US book from 1970 and is full of pictures for every project some quite cute and some extremely tacky..

"Lots and lots of ideas for young and old to make out of thread, paper, pencils, scissors and glue. What about making your own:

Valentine card
Easter table decorations
Hallowe'en masks
Christmas decorations, card, trees and gifts
fun hats for party time
gifts for all the family - pin cushions, pyjama bags, tidies, calendars and finger puppets
Busy fingers will enjoy the creative art of making toys, table mats, or even a coat for the dog. See how ingenious you can be with simple scraps found about the house"

Indeed. Even 40 years ago they were looking at craft upcycling.
Here's a couple of samples of what's in the book. Leave a comment if you want pdf scans of the book:

Welcome!

This will [hopefully] be a little blog featuring my craft hacks, op-shop finds and creations. Basically anything to do with sewing, knitting or repurposing. Stay tuned for pics and more!
